Successful implementation of the Case Management System in commercial courts in Republika Srpska

    28.05.2010.

The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (the HJPC of BIH) completed the implementation of the case management system (CMS) in commercial courts in Republika Srpska, whereby these courts fully automated the work process. This success is the result of the joint work of the ICT Department of the HJPC/CMS Project and the presidents of commercial courts.

To create optimum conditions for the work of commercial courts and ensure the perquisites for the automatic transfer of economic cases to the newly established courts in a timely manner, several meetings were held with the presidents of commercial courts. The current situation and the possibility of equipping the courts with the necessary ICT equipment were discussed at the meetings. The presidents of commercial courts expressed the need and their readiness for an automated take-over of data with respect to cases referred to these courts for jurisdiction and the entering of newly-submitted cases into the CMS.

Based on the information submitted by the courts during this month, it was established that almost all commercial cases had been entered into the CMS. The basic and district courts with commercial departments established in their seats are obliged to submit all commercial cases for action to commercial courts having jurisdiction.

The HJPC shall continue with the implementation of the CMS system in all judicial institutions. According to the implementation plan, the CMS shall be implemented in all courts and prosecutors’ offices in Bosnia and Herzegovina by the end of 2010.

The purpose of the CMS is full automation of work processes at courts and prosecutors’ offices for all staff profiles which will enable higher level of efficiency and transparency of work of judicial institutions, monitoring of statistic information and reporting.

The CMS is a backbone of the information system in the judiciary and ensures unified electronic case management at all levels of courts and prosecutors’ offices in BiH.
