    Director of the HJPC BiH Secretariat

    At its session on 18 February, 2013, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC BiH) appointed Mr Admir Suljagic to the office of Director of the HJPC BiH Secretariat.

    In consideration of his performance, at its session on 14 December 2016, the HJPC BiH passed a decision to extend the mandate of the Director of the HJPC BiH Secretariat, Mr Admir Suljagic, for an additional four-year term beginning on 1 March 2017.

    Prior to his appointment as Director of the HJPC BiH Secretariat, he was Chief of Cabinet of the HJPC BiH Presidency and senior legal advisor to the President of the HJPC BiH. 

    Since the establishment of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH, he has worked as a legal advisor on the Project – Restructuring the Minor Offence System and the Minor Offence Courts in BiH, as well as working as a legal advisor at the HJPC BiH Secretariat on planning and communication matters, and at the Cabinet of the HJPC BiH Presidency.

    After successfully completing his traineeship with a law practice, between 1997 and 2001, he was executive director of an OSCE/Council of Europe Project, managing the Committee for Free Legal Aid in BiH, and later on – as judicial reform officer – he joined the Office of the High Representative i.e. the Independent Judicial Commission in BiH, which initiated the reform process for the BiH judiciary.

    He also worked at the Office of the Council of Europe in BiH as manager of a Council of Europe/European Commission Project on support for the judicial and prosecutorial training centres in BiH. Within the Office of the Council of Europe, he was one of the coordinators/leaders of the project for drafting commentaries on the Civil Procedure Code and the Law on Enforcement Procedure.

    Mr Admir Suljagic graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Sarajevo, and has long-standing experience in working on judicial reforms that have been ongoing in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2002. He passed his bar exam in 2001.

    He is currently a student of the Joint Masters Program of the Faculties of Economics of Sarajevo and Zagreb – MBA program on Strategic Information Management. He successfully completed his MBA PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) program – Administration and Management at the PwC Academy in Belgrade. He also completed education programs/courses at the Queen Mary University in London, the European Academy for Education and Social Research in Brussels and the Harvard University, John. F. Kennedy School of Government. 

    Mr Admir Suljagic speaks fluent English.

    Mr. Admir Suljagic assumed the Office of Director of the Secretariat of the HJPC BiH on 1 March 2013, and his mandate was extended on 1 March, 2017.
