At the session held on 26 January 2011 in Sarajevo, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH (HJPC BiH) rendered a decision on the appointment of the President of the Court BiH. 

Meddžida Kreso is appointed as President of the Court BiH.

Pursuant to the Law on the HJPC, the President of the Court BiH must be one of the judges of that Court, who proved to have managerial and organisational skills important for the Court BiH.  The President is appointed to the term of office of six (6) years. 

In rendering a Decision on the appointment, the Council took into account criteria such as:  expertise, working experience and results; professional skills based on results achieved in career hitherto;  ability to impartially, conscientiously, diligently, decisively and responsibly perform his/her duties within the office which he/she applies for;  interpersonal skills, conduct outside the workplace, professional impartiality, reputation and experiences in holding senior positions.
